About Altizer Stained Glass

Based in Chatham, New Jersey, Anne Altizer creates unique custom stained glass windows, art and gifts that are on display in homes and businesses across the United States, in Hong Kong and Japan. Stained glass art can be a simple gift of appreciation for teachers, a custom lamp matching a room palette or the dominant theme around which a room is designed.

Each work begins with a paper design template and selection of the glass for each individual piece. Each piece of glass is hand cut from a selected sheet that meets the opaqueness, color and other characteristics. Each piece is carefully ground, hand wrapped in copper foil, mapped to the design template or mold to ensure fit and soldered together. From there the work is cleaned, polished and framed for delivery.

The works found in this site are examples of what has been and can be created, but by no means limit the possibilities. Most works are created in collaboration with the buyer, though some of the decorative works are in stock and available for immediate delivery. Prices are based on size, complexity and intricacy of design and selection of glass.

While custom windows range in size, Anne has created beautiful windows up to 8 feet across.  She has also created works for Palladian windows, so popular in today’s new homes. In the New York metro area, Anne will provide on-site consultation to create custom stained glass work for businesses or homes. Outside the New York Metro area, Anne will work closely with customers to ensure exact measurements, custom designs and delivery to meet customer needs.

Anne also excels in making home décor in stained glass, including lamps (made to color specifications), candle gardens, mirrored trays, cases, trashcans, sun catchers and bowls.  Stained glass makes for unique holiday, hostess and teacher gifts and one-of-a-kind wedding, baptism, bar & bat mitzvah gifts.
